Caldwell Environmental products can restore failed leaching fields, avoiding the cost of evacuation. The biological treatment reduces fats, oils and grease in the leach field converting it into carbon dioxide and water. 95% of leach field failures are caused from fats, oils and grease. The soil in the leaching facility becomes clogged with organic material making the system unusable. Microbes eat the clogged organic matter thus restoring the field to its original state. With biological monthly maintenance after recovery, the field should last indefinitely. Caldwell Environmental believes that these products could save the residents of Massachusetts $500 million or more in unnecessary excavation and replacement costs.
