Of the several options of bioremediation systems, Caldwell has chosen and specialized in the system which produces better and faster results in most applications and at the same time produces dramatic cost saving.

The Caldwell system, produces specific, highly-cultured strains of natural bacteria in the laboratory. These strains have an exceptionally high capacity for digesting specific organic compounds, which make them suitable for removal of a wide range of organic waste contaminants.

The bacteria produced by Caldwell are derived from naturally-occurring "friendly grease and oil-eating bacteria, all classified by the American Type Culture Collection (A.T.C.C.) as Class 1, defined as being safe and acceptable for use in facilities such as food production plants controller by U.S. Drug Administration. The bacteria is not harmful to human, animal, plant, or marine life.

Special formulations of bacteria are prepared in Caldwell laboratories and selected by Caldwell microbiologists in a "customized" application, in order to maximize the elimination of pollutants to be treated at any specific facility.

The scientific selection of bacteria in the formulation for a particular facility or site is used to treat the contamination by inoculation using an appropriate system of injection or metered bioaugmentation. Thus both the bacteria formulation and the method of application are engineered for the best results in individual organic contamination solutions.
